The Arrecife Ayuntamiento have announced the “Carnival Shop Window Competition” in which all small to medium sized businesses and catering services can participate and have a chance at winning cash prizes.
To encourage business owners to take part, there are cash prizes of six hundred, four hundred and two hundred for the 3 best shop windows.
The Ayuntamiento’s Event’s and Development Councillor, Maciot Cabrera, stated “the aim of this competition is to encourage participation during the carnival season by bringing colour to our streets, rewarding the best decorated shop windows and those that create the best carnival atmosphere.”
The requirements of participating businesses are that they must be registered with the Impuesto de Actividades Económicas, have an establishment that is open to the public in Arrecife, and an enclosed glass front display from February 10th until the 22nd.
Assessment of the businesses will look at aspects such as originality, colour combinations, background, and design.
Businesses wishing to take part have until February 9th to register at the Ayuntamiento’s Registry Office.
