The Guardia Civil have arrested two passengers at the Lanzarote airport who were in possession of two kilos of cocaine.
As part of an ongoing operation, two passengers aged 43 and 34 were arrested at the Lanzarote airport on January 6th.
Flight inspections are regularly held at the airport on flights that are commonly used to transport drugs. The behaviour of the passengers caught the attention of the police, which provoked them to conduct a search.
Upon searching the passengers, the Guardia Civil found 2 kilos of what they suspected to be cocaine. One package was hidden in luggage and the other in their clothes.
The substances were tested and gave a positive result for cocaine.
The two passengers were arrested and are now awaiting the following legal procedures.
