A yellow alert for rough seas has been issued by AEMET. The warning will begin at 6 am on Wednesday 28th January and continue until midday on Thursday the 29th.
As with previous warnings, large waves of up to five metres are predicted to affect the northern and western-facing coasts. Any activity on rocky shores, piers or other areas close to the open sea are not recommended.
The heavy seas are a result of Storm Joseph, which is currently affecting the Spanish mainland but will miss the Canaries.
After a few dry days, there is a chance of occasional light showers on Wednesday and Thursday. Otherwise, we’ll see the usual mix of sunshine, clouds and light breezes, with a slight increase in temperatures.
