Ademal, the association dedicated to detecting, monitoring and denouncing cases of animal cruelty has denounced a property in Teguise in which podencos are being kept in small cages.

Ademal have published a report to their Facebook page detailing a series of reports made against a property in Teguise that has podencos kept in small cages. The reports date back as far as 2022, when Ademal first informed police about it.

At that time three dogs were being kept in unacceptable conditions. In 2023 they report that one of the dogs had disappeared, leaving two in the cages with a wall blocking part of it.

In 2024 they reported that a podenco was being kept in an even smaller cage.

Now, in 2025, they reported that the cages are completely covered by walls and that the caged dogs can no longer be seen, nor can the dogs see beyond the wall.

On Facebook, Ademal asked “Are these acceptable methods for the Teguise authorities? We never received any information about the state of our report even though we asked for it and they have to give it to us.”
