A collision between a lorry and a van caused long delays and tailbacks on the LZ-40 to Puerto del Carmen yesterday afternoon.
The horrendous accident was reported in the vicinity of the Spinola petrol station at 2.20 pm. Emergency services who attended reported that the van driver was taken to hospital with an arm injury.
As the incident occurred at peak traffic time, delays and queues were considerable. Normal service had been resumed by 4.40pm.
The project to widen the LZ-40 to a dual carriageway is currently on the verge of final approval.
