Tías Local Police have confiscated 72 electric scooters that were found lying around the streets of Puerto del Carmen.
As on several occasions before, the scooters will be stored in the Vehicle Depot on Calle Anzuelo.
Mayor José Juan Cruz and mobility councillor Sergio García reminded residents that this is not the first time scooters have been removed in response to complaints and in order to address road safety.
Scooters are not illegal but hire scooters that operate without a licence are contravening local by-laws. Tías prohibited the use of scooters without a helmet on public roads in 2021.
