44-year-old with international arrest warrant arrested in Arrecife

The National Police have arrested a 44-year-old Austrian man in Arrecife who had an international arrest warrant for drug trafficking crimes.

The investigation began when the National Police were informed that an Austrian citizen could have been living in Arrecife under a false identity, and an international arrest warrant issued in Austria.

They were able to locate the 44-year-old and confirmed his true identity, verifying that it was the person with the arrest warrant.

He has been placed in custody awaiting extradition.
