Four men have been charged with public order offences and putting the safety of crew and passengers in danger after an incident on an Easyjet plane that led to an emergency landing in Lanzarote yesterday.

The plane, headed to Tenerife from Manchester, was forced to divert from its route and land in Lanzarote yesterday after cabin crew had requested an emergency landing “faced with the possibility of aggression”.  Initially, eight passengers were reported to be behaving violently.

The A320 airbus, operated by Easyjet, was met on land by security forces, and four men, reported as being drunk, were charged.
