The “kissing stars” will remain visible tonight after their celestial kiss last night.
The stars are, in fact, the planets of Venus and Jupiter, and stargazers have been monitoring their movement all week as they moved to their closest proximity yesterday evening.
The alignment of the planets means they are now moving apart and will be separated by the width of a full moon. They can be seen by the naked eye, and the best time to look for them is just after sunset.
