The Cabildo, though Turismo Lanzarote, sent a representative to attend the “Routes World 2022” international event.

The event, which has been held annually for 25 years, provides a platform for airlines, airports, tourism authorities and suppliers to hold meetings and discuss new tourism routes. Over 70% of Routes World airline delegates believe that meetings held at the event have led to new routes.

Cabildo President, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted the island’s presence at the event “to continue to publicise the brand of Lanzarote around the world, the unique attractions we have and the innovations we have implemented in recent years in the tourism sector.”.

The CEO of the Society for the Promotion of Lanzarote (SPEL), Héctor Fernández, noted that several hundred companies attended the forum “so it was a great opportunity to reach agreements with them, work on creating new connections and, thus, generate new tourism markets with destinations that fit the new tourism policies developed on the island.”.
