At this time every year, ripe, glossy cherries suddenly arrive in local supermarkets and shops in huge quantities. They’re not a Canarian product – cherries grow best in Spain’s cooler northern regions, such as Aragon – but for cherry lovers, this is the moment they’ve been waiting for.
Last week a kilo of cherries would have cost you more than €8. But now Hiperdino are selling them for €2.29 a kilo. If you like cherry jam, cherry tart or just enjoy sitting and filling your face with cherries, now’s your time!
