Playa Blanca’s carnival takes place this weekend, and it’s the first to take place since Canarian restrictions were lifted today. All events will take place at the esplanade opposite then Lanzarote Princess Hotel, and the main events are as follows:
Friday 25th March
5pm: Dog Carnival.
9pm: Gathering of Murgas & Chirigotas (singing groups)
Saturday 26th March
11am: Children’s Carnival
9pm: Gathering of Comparsas (dance groups), with fabulous local groups Los Yaiseros and Los Timanfeiros hosting.
Sunday 27th March
12pm: Day Carnival: Big party with the first open air live music the island has seen for ages. Performing will be Juan Manuel La Linea y su Orquesta, Orquesta La Sabrosa from Tenerife, Orquesta Furia Joven from Gran Canaria, Grupo Bomba from Fuerteventura and DJ Elvis .
8.30pm: Drag Queen Gala, featuring the wildest drags from the Canaries.
