Yesterday, a 62-year-old swimmer drowned at Playa Dorada in Playa Blanca.
At 1:35pm health services received a call requesting urgent help for a man seen to be drowning at Playa Dorada.
112 Canarias immediately dispatched to the scene where staff performed various resuscitation. Unfortunately, the swimmer was declared dead after medical staff failed to resuscitate him.
Police arrived at the scene later to take charge of proceedings.
