Last Saturday, twenty youngsters from the municipality of Yaiza enjoyed an experience under the southern waters of Playa Flamingo, leaning first-hand about the richness and diversity of the sea by experiencing diving for the first time.
Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, highlighted that “it is an unprecedented activity that carries a message of awareness about caring for our ocean, an initiative that complements the beach and seabed cleaning days that we organise with help from Pura Vida Diving.”.
Before they took to the waters, the youngsters took part in a diving theory class where instructors explained how to use the equipment and spoke about everything that they could be experienced when diving.
“The experience was fantastic for everyone, you realise that there is so much to explore and enjoy”, stated Councillor, Daniel Medina, who also took part.
