Yaiza opens its Nativity Scene today

Yaiza will officially open its famous nativity scene, or belén, at 8pm this evening (Friday 28th November). As always, the nativity will be located in the Plaza de los Remedios in the centre of Yaiza.

Yaiza’s is probably the best-known of all the island’s nativity scenes – a breathtaking work of modelling featuring scores of tiny figures, scale models of many of the island’s most famous landmarks and a fiery, smoking volcano.

Playa Blanca will switch its lights on tomorrow in the Plaza del Carmen, just before the start of the Music Run at 8.30 pm. However, there’ll be music and DJs, Zumba and a batucada parade from 5pm onwards.
