The new Barcelo hotel in Playa Blanca, which will be the largest on the island, is almost ready to open, nearly four years after construction commenced in 2019.
No precise date has been given yet for the opening of the €150 million project, but the hotel’s website shows available bookings for December 1st this year.
The hotel is owned by the Yudaya company but will be operated by Barcelo as a four-star establishment.
In May last year, co-president of the Barceló Group, Simón Pedro Barceló, announced that the hotel group would take charge of the hotel at the Marina Rubicon in Playa Blanca. Projected to start operating next year. It will be the largest hotel on the island and will have 720 rooms and space for 1,400 guests.

The new Barcelo hotel is located on what was the stretch of open space between the Princesa Yaiza and the Marina Rubicon.
