Have you tried gazpacho and salmorejo? In this article we explain the differences.

Gazpacho is a blend of liquidised vegetables, usually tomatoes, peppers, cucumber and onion, with olive oil, a touch of garlic and a dash of wine vinegar. Salmorejo is the same, but is entirely tomato-based, without the cucumber or peppers, and is usually thicker.

Both are available in supermarkets either freshly-made, in plastic bottles, or in cartons, which last a little longer. You’ll usually find it in the refrigerators, as both drinks are best served chilled. You can eat them like soup, garnished with croutons, diced vegetables and even ice, or just drink them from a glass.

Absolutely brilliant at quenching thirst and recharging your vitamin levels, gazpacho and salmorejo are life savers during heatwaves. They’re also great hangover cures.
