Unemployment on Lanzarote in the second quarter of 2023 has fallen to 12.23%, a drop of over 2 percentage points.
This means the rate of unemployment on the island is fast approaching the Spanish national average of 11.6%, and overall employment figures may soon rival those before the financial crisis in 2008. Teguise is where most jobs were created, followed by Arrecife, Yaiza and Tías. Sanm Bartolomé and Har´ñia barely saw any change in their figures.
