An exhaustive search was carried out by emergency services yesterday in the waters off Playa Los Pocillos and Matagorda.
Tías local police, Marine Rescue and an Emerlan jet-ski were called out after a phone call reported that a bather was in difficulties.
But after an exhaustive search had been carried out with no results, CECOES, the emergency phone line, confirmed that the call had been a false alarm.
