UD Lanzarote presented their new coach, Ángel López, at the Cepal shop in Arreciefe on Tuesday evening.
Club President Juan Carlos Albuixech, director César Saavedra, Cabildo Sports Councillor Juan Monzón and Rosmen Quevedo, representing Arrecife Ayuntamiento, attended the launch.
López was previously the coach at Villa Santa Brigida in Gran Canaria after several years working in the capital with Las Palmas teams. As a footballer, he played for UD Las Palmas, Villarreal and Real Betis and won five caps for Spain.
Abuixech welcomed López, saying “We feel lucky to have you with us,” and announced, “This project is the continuation of all we’ve been working towards to regain trust and boost Rojillo pride.”
López thanked the club’s fans and said that he had already been working hard for a month and a half.
