We recently visited Leo’s Burgers in Costa Teguise, the burger joint that is rapidly making a name for itself in the burger world, both here on Lanzarote and in the Canaries. Here’s what we thought of the menu:
The team at Leo’s Burgers have made quite the name for themselves since opening, we’d heard great things about their burgers and seen that they have been winning awards at burger festivals in the Canaries. We decided to head to Costa Teguise to give them a try.
Located in the C.C. Los Charcos, the restaurant is to your left when you enter the centre, with outdoor and indoor seating.
We were greeted by restaurant co-owner Liga who offered us a table indoors. The inside of the restaurant has a warm inviting feeling with animated staff and background music. The walls feature pictures of celebrities eating burgers (Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Barrack Obama, among others.)
The five of us were seated at the table as Liga presented their impressive menu to us, available in paper or via a QR code.
The restaurant caters to all your burger needs and dietary requirements with sections including classic burgers, “expert level” burgers, vegan burgers, chicken burgers, as well as a “burger factory” menu where diners can create their perfect burger.
We decided to try a burger from each section, choosing the Typical, Cabra Loca, Juicy Lucy, Gringo and a custom burger from the Burger Factory menu with 200g angus beef, guacamole and red onion.
You get to choose whether you would like their rustic or brioche burger buns, which are made inhouse by Leo, as well as a selection of five different types of fries (crispy, potato wedges, curly fries, waffle fried or sweet potato fries.)
Our burgers came to the table piping hot and wrapped in paper – which you’ll need, the burgers are huge!
The fries came in a wire basket lined with paper along with four dipping sauces and, as with the burgers, the portions were large too.
After a brief pause in conversation as we tucked into the burgers, everyone at the table agreed that the burgers were unlike any other we had eaten on Lanzarote. My Juicy Lucy burger hit the spot with its oozing cheesy centre, tangy pickles, and delicious burger sauce.
The service at Leo’s Burgers was excellent, Liga and the staff were attentive and polite.
After filling our bellies, we ordered a few coffees as we compared burgers. I think I won with my Juicy Lucy, however, everyone at the table argued that theirs was the best of the lot.
We’ll be visiting Leo’s Burgers again soon and we highly recommend it to any burger lovers.
Leo’s Burgers is in the CC Los Charcos, Avenida Islas Canarias, Costa Teguise. It’s open from 1pm – 3.30pm and 7.30pm – 10.30pm on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; and all day from 1pm to 10.30pm on Sundays (closed Tues and Wed)
