Travesia del Rio sign-up to open this Friday

The sign-up for the Travesía a Nado del Río, Lanzarote’s most popular swimming event, will open this Friday, the 28^th of June.

The Travesía sees swimmers gather in Caleta de Sebo in La Graciosa before being ferried over to thew wild Playa de Risco beneath the Famara cliffs. On the whistle, they then swim back across the 2.6 km strait to the harbour they started from, where a free pàella is waiting for them. 

This year, the race will take place on 28^th September.

450 places are available for adults, with another 100 on the waiting list for cancellations. There’ll be another 50 places for minors, with ten on the waiting list.

Adult inscriptions will open at 8.30 am this Friday at a cost of €21, and minors can sign up from 12.30 for €10.  You can sign up at https://lanzarotedeportes.com/tnelrio/.
