A 57-year-old woman has died after suffering cardiac arrest while swimming between Playa de Matagorda and Playa de los Pocillos in Puerto del Carmen.
At approximately 4pm yesterday afternoon, the people at the beach saw the 57-year-old struggling in the water and pulled her to the beach to perform resuscitation manoeuvres. Lifeguards at the beach were alerted immediately and arrived at the scene shortly after.
Two ambulances arrived after receiving an alert to the beach, however, the staff were only able to confirm the 57 year olds death.
