Lanzarote’s seven Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism (CACTs) will raise their entry fees on the 1st of January 2024 to cover increasing costs.
The councillor responsible for Tourism, Ángel Vazquez, announced the price rises yesterday, saying that they were still to be finalised, but an example would be an increase in the entry fee to the Fire Mountains from €12 to €20.
Vázquez blamed his predecessor, Benjamin Perdomo, for poor management, claiming that the CACTs had made a loss of €4.4 million in 2021, and a profit of just €500,000 last year.
Perdomo has contested these figures.
