Lanzarote’s Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT) have awarded a contract to install air conditioning systems at the El Diablo Restaurant and the main shop at Timanfaya National Park.
The project, awarded to the company Climatega for €415,808.79, aims to solve a persistent issue for visitors and staff who regularly endure the site’s extreme temperatures.
The work will involve adapting the spaces and connecting the new equipment to the centre’s power supply. The project has received full approval from authorities and will be executed in close collaboration with the César Manrique Foundation to ensure it respects the site’s unique environment and architectural integrity.
The installation is scheduled to be completed within ten weeks of the contract’s formalisation, promising a more comfortable experience for guests exploring the volcanic landscape and dining at the famous geothermal grill restaurant by the next peak season.
