Three of the six new Mercedes buses purchased by the CACT have arrived on Lanzarote which, according to the CACT, is the first step towards ending the long queues at Timanfaya.
In April this year, CACT CEO, Benjamín Perdomo, met with the managers of the Mercedes plant in Turkey to check up on the assembly of their new fleet of hybrid tour buses.
Three of the six new buses have arrived on the island, with the remaining three to arrive soon. The CACT have stated that “this is the first step to start the change in mobility at Timanfaya.”.
“These six new vehicles will replace the current fleet, which have been in use for 15 years.”.
“The new buses have hybrid engines, and two of the buses are adapted to those with reduced mobility, allowing for a more modern, safe and sustainable service.”.
The new fleet has been financed by FDCAN, with a budget of 1.8 million euros.
