Tías mural nominated among best in the world

A mural in Tías has been nominated among the best in the world for May by the international website Street Art Cities.

The mural, titled Constancia, was created by Erik Air at the Tías Sports Pavilion and is “a reflection on sport, movement, and emotions” featuring anonymous female faces.

The work specifically celebrates women’s sport, depicting athletes in the colours of the Magec Tías basketball club and the CD Puerto del Carmen handball team.  The mural was commissioned by Tías Ayuntamiento and unveiled on May 14^th.

Street Art Cities, which already named Erik Air as one of the best muralists in 2023, has chosen the work as one of the most outstanding murals of the month worldwide.

Tías Mayor, José Juan Cruz said, “it is a source of pride that a work created in our municipality is among the best in the world.”
