Tïas Ayuntamiento has tendered a €330,000 contract for renovation of streetlights from the Plaza de los Naciones at Playa Los Pocillos to Matagorda.

Tías claims the new lights will be more sustainable, allowing the municipal electricity bill to be substantially reduced.

The project will join other similar renovation plans that are already under way in other areas of the resort, as well as in La Asomada and Conil.

38.4% of Lanzarote residents consider themselves politically centre-left, according to the latest Social Barometer survey.

27% describe themselves as centrists, while 20.7% would identify as centre-right.

On the extremes, 9.89% of islanders consider themselves far right – the highest percentage of the Canaries. They outnumber the 2.3% who chose to describe themselves as far left by more than four to one.
