Tías Ayuntamiento has announced its programme of events for the spooky season – blending modern Halloween fun with cherished Canarian tradition. From 28th to 31st October, the municipality will be alive with parades, theatrical performances, and family friendly activities, offering something for everyone.
The celebrations commence on Tuesday, 28th October, in the heart of Tías. Children’s workshops will begin at 5:30pm in Plaza Leandro Fajardo, organised by the La Barrilla and Maramar associations. This will be followed at 7:30pm by a spectacular Halloween Parade featuring Anmy Rodríguez, Beatrice Senent, CAEL, the Chimbay batucada, and the horror characters of M&G.
The parade route will start at Plaza Leandro Fajardo, next to the Ermita de San Antonio, and proceed along Avenida Alcalde Florencio Suárez, Calle Libertad, Calle Fraternidad, and Calle San Antonio, before returning to the square. The evening will conclude with a Haunted House at the Tias Municipal Theatre, organised by the Los Burgaos association.
On Wednesday, 29th October, the action moves to Puerto del Carmen. Children’s workshops will start at 5:30pm in Plaza de El Varadero, run by the Maramar association. The Halloween Parade begins at 7:30pm with the same cast, travelling along Calle Bajamar, Avenida El Varadero, and Calle Tenerife, and ending at Calle El Varadero. There, at 8:00pm, the Haunted House, organised by MG Eventos, will open its doors.
Thursday, 30th October, is dedicated to tradition with the celebration of Noche de Finaos. Starting at 6:00pm in the square in front of the San Antonio Church, the evening will feature a Finaos play by the Actúa theatre company, which will offer a performance with five scenes and references to historical figures in the Canary Islands.
The Tías School of Folk Music will also perform, and there will be a popular tasting of roasted chestnuts, mistela, cheese, dried figs, and roscas in an atmosphere of intergenerational conviviality.
Friday, 31st October, promises a particularly intense day of activities. In Tías, a Halloween Parade will depart at 5:30pm from the Casa de la Cultura, travelling along Calle Luchada and Calle Libertad and the Avenida Alcalde Florencio Suárez, ending at Plaza Leandro Fajardo.
This will be followed by the awards ceremony for the shop window competition and the Circo del Terror. Between 6:45pm and 7:45pm, visitors can brave the Tunnel of Terror.
That same afternoon, young people will take centre stage at the Plaza El Pavón. With the collaboration of the Adsis Foundation and Juventud Canaria, the Halloween Joven programme will start at 5:00pm, featuring creative workshops and themed games such as the gymkhana of terror, the tombola of fear, the mummy race, and “Put the fang on the vampire.” The evening will culminate with a scary photo call, themed refreshments, and a performance by DJ Julen Silva at 8:00pm.
