Three people rescued in Playa Honda

Three people were rescued on Friday evening after their boat, the Ciudad de Ibiza, capsized two nautical miles from the coast of Playa Honda.

The three crew members on board were picked up unharmed by a nearby sailboat, after which EMERLAN rescuers from the Puerto del Carmen base undertook a search for the 5-metre vessel.

However, the search had to be abandoned as searchlights were interfering with airport traffic. The Ciudad de Ibiza was finally located and recovered on Saturday morning.
