The Canaries remains under a pre-alert situation for rough seas and big waves that are mainly affecting the north and west coasts of the islands.
The dangers were highlighted yesterday after two men and a woman died when large waves swept them out to sea from the natural bathing pool at Los Gigantes in Tenerife. Two other bathers were seriously injured in the incident.
The high waves are coming from the northwest and affecting northern and western costs of all the Canary Islands, while sheltered southern beaches may remain calm.
Until the pre-alert is withdrawn, any activities near the sea on northern and western coasts are not advisable.
