The CCOO President, Ricardo Hernández, has stressed that the island’s public transport is overwhelmed and stated that there has been an increase in verbal and physical attacks on bus drivers due to delays on lack of stops.
Public transport on Lanzarote is increasingly stretch to its limits, with delays as they “don’t have enough drivers”, according to CCOO President, Ricardo Hernández.
In an interview with La Voz, Hernández explained that the person who tried to stab the bus driver last Wednesday happened because “the passenger was angered by the delay.”
Meetings are already being held between the bus company and the Cabildo’s Transport Department to find a solution to the issue. Hernández explained that tests “are going to be carried out on timetables to see how the problem can be solved.”
