Teguise Ayuntamiento has started a large-scale purchase of material to improve safety on the municipality’s beaches. An initial budget of approximately €333,200 is available.

First Aid units, lifesavers’ turrets equipped with observation chairs, flagpoles, warning flags, and new signage are all on the shopping list, with the aim of deploying all the items this summer.

Most of the material will go to Costa Teguise, but the Guatiza coast, la Graciosa and Famara will also receive supplies.

A contract for the service to maintain and improve the public conveniences at Playa Bastián, Las Cucharas, and El Jablillo, all in Costa Teguise also be awarded mid-year. The closure of these toilets and the state of them when open, has been the subject of several complaints by tourists.
