30,000 were expected, but around 50,000 people attended the Saborea Lanzarote Food Fair in La Villa de Teguise over the weekend., which has been hailed as an overwhelming success.
Stallholders were rushed off their feet over both days, and 420,000 tickets for food and drink were sold in total.
Cabildo President Oswaldo Betnacort thanked the people of Lanzarote for their response to the event, and also extended gratitude to all the businesses that took part in the event.
For tourist councillor Ángel Vázquez, the food fair “could not have been more gratifying.” He said, “This year we have raised the bar to a very high standard, thanks to the citizens and to the sector involved.”
