The Saborea Lanzarote Food Festival which took place over the weekend in the Villa de Teguise, was the most successful to date, according to Lanzarote’s Cabildo, with a record number of visitors and food tickets sold.

Precise figures have not been provided, but the Cabildo claims that the event “left an excellent taste in the mouth of all visitors and organisers”. The expansion of the space dedicated to the fair reduced overcrowding, which had been a problem at previous fairs, and the warm weather was kind to the event.

Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort said “This event is in line with Lanzarote’s policy to attract quality rather than quantity, and this has become clear when the average spend of each visitor increased.

Teguise Mayor Olivia Duque said, “It gives great pride to walk through La Villa and see how its streets are filled with flavours and smells, not only from our island, but from other nearby territories; and to observe how the visitors enjoy our culture.”

The Cabildo confirmed that the 12th edition of the event will take place in 2025.
