Teguise Ayuntamiento has announced that it will carry out improvements to one of its most important streets, Calle Jose Betancort.
The narrow central street which connects the main roundabout on the LZ-10 to the LZ-30 Teguise-San Bartolomé road, passing the Convent of San Francisco, will be given new vertical and horizontal signage, pavements and gutters will be renovated and a one-way system will be introduced.
Resurfacing of the Plaza de Santo Domingo and other central streets will also be carried out with the aim of speeding up traffic flow on Sundays, the busiest day in the old capital.
Mayor Olivia Duque said the changes had been requested by local residents and described the aim of the project as “creating a more accessible and sustainable environment that will benefit visitors and residents.”
