Emergency services on Lanzarote attended fifteen incidents related to yesterday’s high winds.
The arrival of Storm Nuria on Thursday afternoon brought strong winds that reached up to 90 kph in some parts of the island. Although it didn’t last long, the passage of the storm was intense.
Firemen attended a fallen fence and a pergola that was on the verge of collapsing in Haría. Three more pergola-related incidents took place in San Bartolomé, and electric cables were also blown down in the gale.
Other incidents involving lampposts, palm trees and shutters occurred all over the island, while a floodlight at a football pitch in Arrecife was blown down.
While two injuries were reported on Tenerife and Gran Canaria, none were reported on Lanzarote.
