Spanish airline awarded photography prize for Lanzarote photo

The Spanish airline Volotea, which connects Lanzarote with several French cities, has awarded a photography prize to a photo taken in Lanzarote.

The photo, titled “The wind in your hair” was taken by Clarisse Depuis and won first prize in the Amateur section of a competition which attracted more than 8,000 entries.  It shows a young girl looking out of a car window at a volcanic landscape as the wind tousles her hair.

Depuis said “On Lanzarote, the landscapes that parade like fantastic film sets are of breathtaking beauty, apart from the alisio winds which never stop.”

Her prize was €1,000 of travel vouchers, a rucksack and a digital camera.
