Lanzarote’s Cabildo is offering subsidies to island residents who wish to install solar panels, as part of the Canarian Government’s project titled “Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energies and the move to Electric Vehicles”.

A total of €190,000 will be available, and grants will be available in three categories, which depend on the energy consumption of the building and whether it is connected to the mains power supply.

The grants available in the categories range from €1,100 to €2,000, and the Cabildo will also subsidise up to 50% of installation costs, as long as they do not exceed €3,000

Ariagona González, the Cabildo’s Councillor for Ecological Transition, said “We continue to work for greater independence in energy and to put a brake on the consequences of contamination such as climate change . Solar energy allows us advance in our aim to make Lanzarote a place thgat is sustaibnable and respectful of the environment.”
