A 15-metre sailing boat ran ashore in rough seas yesterday in Puerto del Carmen.
The incident took place near the Hotel San Antonio, at Playa del Barranquillo at around 12 midday.
The two crew members on the boat managed to get to shore safely. Although a Maritime Rescue vessel arrived, towing the boat back out to sea was discounted, and the skipper hired a company to tow the boat onto land. Firemen boarded the boat to gather important documents, which were then delivered to the skipper.
