Firemen had a busy day up their ladders in Arrecife yesterday.
First, they were called to rescue a child that had climbed onto a rooftop to retrieve a ball, and had been unable to get down again. The firemen closed the street to traffic and sent up a cherry-picker style ladder, rescuing the child unharmed.
After wards, local police requested that the firemen head to Calle Guenia, where someone had thrown clothes, shoes and a suitcase into a tree from a nearby building. The items posed a risk to pedestrians beneath, and the firemen removed them.
