Air traffic at Lanzarote’s César Manrique Airport was suspended for 40 minutes yesterday due to the reported presence of a drone.
The sighting of a drone at the end of Runway 3 at the airport prompted air traffic controllers to suspend flights at 9.30 pm, for a period lasting 40 minutes. During that time no landings were authorised and no take-offs permitted.
The drone is being investigated and, if found, its operator could face extremely heavy fines.
