Renovation of Puerto del Carmen’s harbour area discussed

Tías Mayor José Juan Cruz has met with the managing director of Puertos Canarios, José Gilberto Moreno, to discuss renovations to Puerto del Carmen’s harbour area. Puertos Canarios is a business attached to the Canarian government’s public works department that manages over 50 ports on the islands.

The possibilities of a bicycle parking area, safety handrails on the pier and new public conveniences were discussed. The meeting also considered the granting of an administrative licence for the drydock area including the children’s playground and bowls pitches.

Mayor Cruz also passed on concerns from local residents about the lack of electricity in the area.
