The Coalicion Canaria in San Bartolomé have called for the removal of the abandoned wind farm on Montaña Mina, which they claim poses a risk to the public.
The turbines were installed in 1992 , and operated for 20 years, until the collapse of the company that owned them in 2012. they have been in a state of abandonment and evident neglect ever since..
Councillor David Rocio of the CC “It’s not right that there has never been a budget put aside to remove these structures that make the landscape ugly and could risk the safety of workers and hikers.”
