The Soco Shopping Centre, on Puerto del Carmen’s front line, has brought a new concept of shopping to Lanzarote’s most popular tourist area, and is a must-visit as the island gears up towards the festive period.
The Soco Shopping Centre opened in August 2022, an audacious project that brought high street retail the cradle of Lanzarote’s tourist industry – the Fariones zone.
Since then, the shopping centre has gone from strength-to-strength, with exciting shops and a solution to the parking problems that have been present in the resort for years.
Director Enrique Navajo tells us that “the centre is working really well. The supermarket is making a name for itself, and the parking facilities are proving especially popular.”
He tells us that the centre will shortly be putting up its Christmas decorations, and Black Friday will also be an event in the centre.
One of the big attractions at Soco Shopping Centre is the large Mercadona supermarket, at the end of the seafront heading towards the Old Town.
The centre also hosts the only Adidas Mega store on the island – a real draw for fans of the perennially popular German sportswear brand; while fashion-conscious islanders have rushed to see the unique selection of clothing at Superdry, which combines retro American items with Japanese touches and a hint of British style.
Then there’s luxury designer fashion from The Thin Line and Mosfashion. High class scents at Perfumes. es, mobile phones and accessories at Connect and natural beauty and cosmetics at the Nirvaan Naturales Parafarmacia.
FoodBox offers great eating, and the Aroma coffee shop is perfect for a break while shopping. Shortly arriving will also be the Hot Dog House. The large Banana Loca kid’s play area opened last weekend and is the perfect spot to drop off the kids while you explore the Soco Shopping Centre..
Entry to the 346-space parking area costs €1, which is free for the first ten minutes, 2.5 cents for every minute up to the first hour, and 2 cents a minute beyond that, meaning that a two-hour stop will cost just €3.45. There are also several offers for those who wish to use the parking regularly.
