Puerto del Carmen shopping centres to be closed

Tias Ayuntamiento plans to close down certain old and dilapidated shopping centres that “tarnish the image of Puerto del Carmen.”

Tias Mayor José Juan Cruz did not mention precise locations but told Lancelot TV that some of the centres in question had very little commercial activity and “could not be maintained any longer as they are a source of infection and insecurity.”

“We have to monitor them all the time, and we’re already in the process of closing some of them,” said Cruz, who also said he hoped that differences with the Cabildo would be ironed out so that the third modernisation plan for the resort could go ahead “as soon as possible.”
