Monday 2nd November is a public holiday across the Canary Islands, with changes to opening hours expected at public buildings and some local businesses.

As the traditional holiday of All Saints’ Day fell on a Sunday this year, the public holiday has been transferred to Monday 2nd November. Yesterday, many families on the island attended local cemeteries to pay respect and leave flowers for their departed relatives.

As usual, many larger shopping centres and supermarkets will remain open, and the resorts will still see plenty of business opening, but public buildings and smaller businesses that are not tourist-oriented are more likely to close.
