Tías Ayuntamiento has announced the installation of three new police cameras in and around Puerto del Carmen.
The cameras are capable of reading registration numbers and will be used to monitor traffic offences as well as provide more detailed statistics about traffic in the resort.
Local Police Chief Antonio Rodríguez described how the cameras had already made it possible to establish that 630,000 vehicles had used one particular roundabout in the resort over the space of a month.
