The new park will be the largest urban park in the Canary Islands once completed, with a plot of almost seven-hectares featuring children’s play areas, pet spots, kiosks, and over 4,000 trees and plants.
In June this year, Cabildo Vice President, Jacobo Medina, stated that the work on the new park was progressing well and is on schedule.
This week, Medina revisited the work which is already at an advanced stage of construction and recently had over 4,000 plants and trees delivered to the site, ready to be planted.
“We have invested nearly 300,000 euros to acquire more than 700 trees and nearly 3,000 cactus and shrubs that will beautify this great space that we are creating from the area of Public Works, thus generating a new green lung on the island,” Medina stated.
“We continue to take steps forward to have as soon as possible this great project that is the Urban Park of Playa Honda, a space that will be enjoyed by the residents of the town and that will also be a meeting place for young and old,” he added.
