Playa Honda main road to re-open gradually

The LZ-2 main road will be re-opening partially over the next few days.

After a brief closure of the road last night, during which traffic was diverted to the Playa Honda service roads, both lanes on the Arrecife to Yaiza side were opened to traffic this morning.

Cabildo Public Works councillor Jacobo Medina forecasts that the lane in the opposite direction (Yaiza to Arrecife) will be open by next Tuesday.  

Motorists have suffered several months of delays and filtering while works proceeded on the underpass that is being constructed to ease traffic on the notorious Playa Honda double roundabout.

Work on the underpass will continue and is expected to be completed in the last quarter of the year.
